Jenni and Snakes

Back at EMP Studio today for another fun photoshoot. The team for today were, Elyse James (an excellent make up artist),  Fiona Brims (who brought along three of her Royal Pythons for the shoot) and first time model Jenni Rodger. It is hard to believe from the images we got that Jenni had never modelled or handled snakes before, she took to both with ease and made a new best friend in Cleopatra, the snake shown in the pictures below. Jenni enjoyed the experience, she especially liked having her make up done for her and will definately model again. As for Fiona and Elyse, I can't thank them enough and really hope to get the chance to work with them again, either together or individually.

Lindsay & David Norris

Congratulations to Lindsey and David who were married at the Ghillie Dhu. Lindsey and David are a wonderful and fun couple who are just perfect together. I was so pleased when they decided they wanted BC Photography to photograph their big day. An Edinburgh wedding brought thoughts of photographing the happy couple strolling down princess street in the sun and then pictures in the gardens with the castle behind, I couldnt wait. The weather unfortunately had other ideas, heavy rain, all day meant we didnt get outside to photograph at all, but this didn't dampen the spirits inside, Lindsay and David smiled the whole day and were so laid back and relaxed that an earthquake wouldnt have bothered them. We may not have got the pictures I imagined but we did get many great shots of a great couple. BC Photography was privileged be part of such an enjoyable fun-filled occasion, I wish this couple got married every week!

Autumn themed shoot - Kike Pavelik

I went along to EMP Studios for todays themed shoot knowing that with husband and wife team Wojtek and Patrycja Gabriel's creativity it was going to be an awesome set up. I was not disappointed, the set was even better than I had imagined and when the lovely Kike Pavelik was added to the scene it was just too easy to shoot great images. Patrycja's imagination and skills are plain to see the detail and variety of her work is really quite superb, add to this the elegance of Kike and her amazing red hair and I had, in my opinion, a wonderful and unique photoshoot.

Thank you Wojtek, Patrycja and of course Kike...

Twistleton Scar

I was off on my travels again this weekend, when I headed down to Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales to photograph some of the many limestone pavements in the area. Although I managed to visit a few of them the main reason for the journey was to visit 'Twiselton Scar'. The pavements are great for photographing, the lone windswept trees that are dotted around and growing from the deep grykes give great focal points, while the shapes and textures of the rocks afford thousands of different photo opportunities. I also like the fact that there is not a certain way or angle to photograph when visiting here, unlike some locations that are photographed in a similair way by hundreds of photographers (including me) there are so many different opportunities here to make an image that is different from the rest.

From the top of the hill there are views across to Ingleborough, which is the second highest mountain in the Yorkshire Dales, and opposite out to Lancaster and Morecambe Bay, again giving many photo opportunities. The weather for most of this trip was, to say the least dissapointing, and although I did manage to get some images that I am reasonably pleased with, I will need to plan my return to capture the many great images I feel I have left behind.
