Studio course

Just finished a four part studio lighting course at Pavilion Photographic Studio under the quite excellent tuition of Barrie Spence. I would recommend this course or any the courses he runs, as his attention to detail is amazing and I can definately say that I have  learned a few things during the course. Here are a couple of the images I captured during the course, with two very different lighting set-ups and with two very good models, Kris and Caroline.

Rachel & Christy Moffat (Part II)

Rachel and Christy who were married recently on the 7th July, loved the images I captured on their big day so much they asked me if I would be up for doing a post wedding shoot! Well I dont need to be asked twice when taking pictures is involved and I agreed instantly. After an earlier attempt a fortnight ago was abandoned due to heavy rain we got a smashing day and had a fun shoot in a very relaxed and informal atmosphere, this along with the light in the evening which was stunning, allowed us to get some super images. Rachel makes no secret of the fact that she loves dressing up especially in her wedding dress so, if anyone out there needs a model with a wedding dress then I know just the person!

British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill

Something different for me today, when a friend and fellow photographer Andy Alexander asked me if I would like to go to Knockhill to photograph the British Touring Car Championships I jumped at the chance. I was keen to give it a go as I remembered going to see the Stock cars at Cowdenbeath with my dad as a youngster, I remembered loving the smell, the noise of the cars and the thrill of the spins and crashes back then, however I was unprepared for just how much faster the Touring Cars actually thunder round the circuit, much quicker than it looks on TV. I was also unprepared for how quick I needed to be to capture a decent image one of these incredible machines when its flying past at full throttle. I loved every minute of the day out and I plan to visit again in the future, as for the images well, yeah I'm happy with the shots I managed to get considering it was my first attempt at motorsport photography.

Here are some images from today, the first shows double BTCC champion Jason Plato in his MG6 GT powering through a section of the circuit known as the Seat Curves, in the second image Sam Tordoff in his Stunning Porche enters the same section in the Porche Carrera Cup.

In the third image Andrew Jordan in his Pirtek Racing Honda Civic, muscles his way past BTTC 2011 champion Matt Neal in the works Honda at the Real Radio hairpin. In the last image the star of the day with two wins, Rob Collard in the super quick West Surrey Racing BMW.

Adelaide & Chris Feeney

Another fun wedding shoot today when Adelaide and Chris were married at the Polloksheilds burgh halls. They are a really laid back and fun couple and we had more than a few laughs during the shoot. Polloksheilds burgh halls is a terrific venue for a wedding and the stunning Maxwell park directly behind affords plenty of opportunites for photographs. Despite the windy conditions the couple, along with the rest of their wedding party and guests braved the elements to get the images required.

I would like to thank Adelaide and Chris for choosing BC Photography and would like to wish the new Mr & Mrs Feeney a long and happy life together...
